trumpet!

hungers.
People: God will feed us with the finest wheat, and He will

Prayer of Confession
O God, You shower Your love upon us with the arrival of each new day. Your mercies flow through our lives every moment. Yet while we take in Your love and absorb Your goodness, we hesitate to pass on that love to those around us. We seek our own gain, while ignoring our neighbors' needs. We slam the door on strangers. We look away from those who are hurting. Gracious Lord, forgive our sins. Release us from our self-centeredness, so that we might seek the welfare of others with the same diligence we seek our own welfare. We ask this in the name of the Incarnate Love of God, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Prayer of Dedication
O Source of Every Blessing, when we hunger and thirst, You satisfy our longings. Out of Your abundant love, You welcome us, and You set before us uncountable good gifts. As we ponder Your overflowing generosity toward us, may we in turn show our gratitude by offering our gifts of love to You and to the work of Your kingdom. We pray this in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
Pastoral Prayer
God of grace and compassion, teach us to love others, just as You love us. When we were estranged from You because of our sin, You reached out and took us in. Grant that we also might reach out to strangers, inviting them to enter our doors and to share in fellowship with us.
We know that the prophets were stoned, and that Jesus was whipped, beaten, and crucified, we know how faithfulness is often rewarded by persecution. Lead us to stand beside those who are made to suffer because of their love of You, so that we might encourage them in their struggle and remind them of the glorious hope that awaits us.
Merciful Lord, You have given us the covenant of marriage, in which a man and a woman vow to love each other as long as they both shall live. But divorce is an ever-present threat to that covenant. So we pray for all married couples, that Your love might bind them together and give them the ability to endure even through difficult times. At the same time, we pray for those who have suffered through divorce, and we ask that Your love might bring healing to their lives. Fill us all with Your love, O God, that we might go forth into the world as renewed and rejuvenated disciples. In the name of Jesus Christ, the Lord of Love, we pray. Amen.
